Desestrutura

The digital Architecture platform, Desestrutura, was created in 2020 by Laura Belik, Berkeley PhD Architecture student. It was created to foster different discussions on Architecture and related topics.
During the Pandemic period, the website launched some open calls. I was invited to participate in the 2nd call, Corpo Confinado (Confined Body), which proposed a reflection on the different states that the body has been going through under the new circumstances.
From a conversation during the confinement period, I recovered memories of my childhood that had the table and the discomfort generated by the rules of etiquette in its center and created a diagram.

Visual Identitiy for Ababé

Graphic Design

2018

Ababé

Brand and visual identity developed for a natural, organic and manual soap brand, fruit of the partnership between two brothers, who are interested in manual making. Using simple techniques and essential oils, Ababé seeks to encourange self care and therefore self love.
Of yoruba origin, the word - a-ba-bé or a-be-be or a-be-be - means: a circular metalic ring with bells, which is at the same time an insignia and musical instrument of the orisha Oxum, divinity of the water of the lakes. The Ababé has a great meaning because when we are able to look at ourself, you can know ourself.
In Yoruba mythology, Oxum carries a golden Ababé, which differentiates from Iemanjá, who carries a silver Ababé. In Orixás' representations, Oxum always appears in yellow and golden garments.
Therefore, we chose to work with these same colors, using gold as the main color.
Keeping in mind the ideas of the female orisha Oxum, I decided to use a typography that could translate class and tradition. From elements present in the emblem of Oxum, the Ababé, and a brief research of other Orixás' amulets, their representations and forms, we opted to follow a “cleaner” path for the development of the logo, based on more slender lines and with few elements.

visual identity and signage project carried out at the office Conjunto 31 for the 8th photography exhibition, held annually at Vila Madalena, São Paulo and organized by DOC Galeria.

Ligia Monachini

Visual identity developed for a client who works with chinese medicine and as an aromatherapist. The project begun with the brainstorming and sketching of ideas that relate to these millenarian sciences. As in both currents, there is a huge concern with the realignment and balance of all chackras, I sought to develop a logo that was directly related to this, but which also resembled the idea of a drop, referring to the essential oils treatment.

Exposição Sérgio Bernardes - Open House

Art Direction
Art Director & Graphic Designer

Eleonora Aronis

In 2019, the centenary of the Brazilian architect Sérgio Bernardes was celebrated. He was an important figure in the brazilian modernist movement, but, for political reasons, he is not so spoken of. In the 70's he found LIC, a laboratory that encouraged research and discussion about Brazilian territory.
My friend Lola, who has already developed a research about the architect and lives in a residence designed by him for her grandparents, invited me to help her set up an Open House weekend in honor of the architect.
I contributed by developing the graphic and exhibition project of the event, which featured an exhibition with original drawings, a Documentary about the architect, talks between architects and teachers and guided tours.

Mars

Graphic Design - Book Design - Visual Narratives

Designer & Photographer

2017

Mars was created for Valongo International Image Festival open call.
The idea was to make a publication using only existing images, a sustainable choice in a world flood and overpopulated by images. They were all found on the internet by typing the word mars in Google search bar.
The choice to use the word Mars was not random, I wanted to play with all the mistery, imaginary and meanings involving the red planet.
